Website design for UK businesses, from a company with its own in-house team
Design Creator Lab is a web design studio in Timișoara, Romania, founded in 2018. We build websites for companies in the United Kingdom and we do it from here: no UK office, no UK phone line, nobody who can drive to your premises. That belongs at the top of the page rather than in the small print, because it changes how a project runs.

What we build is bespoke, written by our own team instead of assembled from a theme sold to ten thousand other businesses. Calls are in English, our working day starts an hour before yours, and each call is followed by a written note so you can correct what we heard before anything gets built.
Who we build for in the UK
We sort clients by what the site has to do, not by the town they trade in. There are no pages here for Manchester or Bristol, because we have nothing true to say about either.
Service businesses come to us most often: a page for each thing you do, an enquiry form that reaches somebody who reads it, and an admin area you can use without ringing anyone.
Startups and SaaS companies are the second group. A landing page that explains the product to a stranger, and the application behind it: accounts, permission levels, subscriptions, onboarding.
Professional practices, law firms and accountants among them, live or die on structure. Who does what, what it costs to start, and how somebody makes contact without filling in nine fields.
Retailers are the fourth. A shop with thirty products and a shop with thirteen thousand are different projects technically, and they are quoted differently.
What a bespoke build includes, line by line
The brief and the page structure come first. We agree which pages exist and what each one is for before any design work starts, which is where most of a budget is saved or wasted.
Design is applied to your brand rather than around a theme's limits. If you have brand guidelines we work inside them; if you do not, building them is separate work with its own line.
The build runs on our own code. No page builder, no licence that has to keep being paid for the site to stay online, no stack of plugins to patch every month.
An admin area comes with it: you add pages, change prices and swap photographs yourself, and training is a call plus a written guide. Mobile comes first rather than last, and testing happens on real handsets.
The technical groundwork is inside the price. A title and a description per page, headings in order, structured data, a sitemap, redirects from the old addresses, and speed work before launch. Measurement is set up with consent handled properly. Domain, hosting and email are handled too, on our own servers or left where they already sit.
Quoted separately, every time: copywriting, photography, translation, an online shop, bookings, customer logins, and any connection into software your business already runs on.
Website design services, priced per project, not per hour
What we sell is a finished website, not hours. The quote names the pages, the features, the number of revision rounds and the date, and that figure is what you pay; if the scope grows, you see a price for the extra before it is built. We prefer this to hourly billing because it puts the risk of a slow week on us rather than on you.
The services behind that quote are the ones you would expect from a website design company: structure and wireframes, design for mobile and desktop, front-end and back-end code, a content management area in your name, the technical groundwork for search, and the launch itself, redirects included.
Starting figures by project type, and what pushes a quote up or down, are on our page about website design costs in the UK.
London, Manchester or Birmingham: how we work with UK clients remotely
Our UK clients can be in London, Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds or a market town; the project runs the same way for all of them, because none of it needs us in the room. We have no office in any of those cities and we do not publish a page per city: a page that only swaps the place name is thin content, and search engines have discounted it for years.
Week one is the brief, on video, in English, with the summary in writing the same day.
After that the work sits at a test address you can open on your own phone. That is where the useful comments come from, because reading a page on a train is nothing like seeing it on a slide.
There is a call every week or two, and a written note after each. The person running your project is also doing the work, so nothing goes through an account manager.
Launch is scheduled with you: a date, a time, what changes at the DNS level, and a way back if something turns out wrong. What remote working does not fix is a brief nobody has written or content nobody has time to supply.
What it costs, in pounds
We have to be straight here. The figures we publish today are in euro, because euro is what we invoice in: a presentation site starts at €29 a month, an online shop at €59 a month, and the setup and any bespoke build are quoted at a fixed price. Those are starting points for a defined scope, not market averages, and we have not turned them into pounds here. A rate invented for a web page is worse than no figure at all.
Where a quote is written in pounds, the rate used for invoicing is stated on the quote itself, so it is fixed in writing rather than decided on the day you pay.
Nothing is added on top of the quote: the figure on the quote is the figure you pay. Worth checking on every other quote you hold.
The breakdown by project type sits on our page about website design cost in the UK.
Projects we have delivered
Helix Trading is an educational trading platform with its own simulator and a complete challenge flow, built on Next.js and PostgreSQL with role segregated authentication. Zelviro is an online store with more than thirteen thousand products, integrated with eMAG, Trendyol and Temu, stock and orders syncing automatically. Modena is a store with card payments through BT iPay3 and instalments through TBI Bank.
MTS GlobalSun is a photovoltaic and renewable energy company where the identity, the new site and the search work were handled as one job.
Two projects touch the British Isles. TalkBridge is an international brand with a dual web presence, a .co.uk site and a .com site, plus the email infrastructure behind its B2B communication. CJM Bathrooms is an Irish bathroom renovation business: a bespoke site replacing a WordPress one, the DNS cutover through Cloudflare, the existing reviews carried across, and analytics that run only once consent is given.
How we compare with a UK agency and with a freelancer
| What you are comparing | Freelancer | UK agency | This studio |
|---|---|---|---|
| Who does the work | one person | a team behind an account manager | a small in-house team you speak to |
| Cover during a holiday | the project waits | somebody picks it up | somebody picks it up |
| Meeting in person | sometimes | yes | no |
| What the price carries | one person's time | office costs and an account layer | the hours on your project |
| Added on the invoice | depends on the supplier | usually something on top | nothing on top |
None of the three is right for every brief. For a five page site a good freelancer is often the sensible choice. We sit between the two on price, and the reason is overhead rather than skill.
Bespoke website design without a London price tag
Bespoke means the site is written for your business rather than assembled from a theme, and it is the only way we build. What it does not have to mean is a London studio's overheads in the quote. Our team is in Timișoara, our costs are Romanian, and the difference shows up in the price rather than in what is delivered.
The trade-off is worth naming: no meetings in person, and a working day that starts an hour before yours. If that suits you, you get the same thing a London agency sells, own code, own design, everything in your name, for a figure a small business can sign off on.
If you are not sure what counts as bespoke on a quote and what is a theme with a new logo, we wrote it down: what a bespoke website is.
Timelines: what four, eight and twelve weeks look like
Four weeks is a small presentation site with content you already have, one round of design comments and no integrations. It only holds if copy and photographs arrive in week one.
Eight weeks is the usual shape of a service business site: research, structure, copy written with you, a design round, the build, testing and launch.
Twelve weeks and beyond is where shops, logins, bookings and links into other systems live, because testing those is a project of its own.
The date that counts is the one on your quote, and it assumes an approval loop on your side. If it slips, we say so the week it slips.
Who owns the code, the domain and the hosting
The code we write for you is yours once the project is paid, and so are the content, the domain and the admin credentials. You can move all of it to another supplier without asking us.
Hosting is the line to read carefully on any quote, ours included. Ask who the domain is registered to and whose account the hosting sits in. A supplier who holds your domain holds your business address.

Questions we get from UK companies before they brief us
Can you work with a UK company from Romania?
Yes, remotely. Contracts, calls and written summaries are in English, and our hours run one hour ahead of yours.
Do you build on WordPress?
No, we write our own code. WordPress comes up as a comparison while you are deciding, and as the thing we move a site off. Consulting Staff and Studio Concept were both moved off it.
Is the price fixed?
For the scope written on the quote, yes. If the build takes longer than planned, that is our problem rather than a variation on your invoice.
Can you promise a position in Google?
No, and nobody honestly can. What goes in writing is the technical work, the page structure and a monthly report from your own Search Console.
What do you need in order to quote?
Your current web address if you have one, what the site has to achieve, and your deadline. We reply within 24 hours and send a scope with a fixed price within 48. Email [email protected] or call +40 770 129 502.
