Do you use templates or is everything custom?

Everything is custom, no exceptions. We do not sell Envato templates and we do not build on purchased WordPress themes. Every project is conceived for that specific client, with a unique design and tailored functionality. That means your website will not look like 10,000 identical sites on the internet.

How long does it take to create a site at DCL?

Typically 3-6 weeks for a custom presentation site (5-15 pages). Custom e-commerce: 6-10 weeks. Custom web applications (B2B platforms, SaaS, dashboards): 3-6 months. The exact timeline is set after the brief and stays fixed throughout the project.

What is the real difference between a custom DCL site and WordPress?

A custom DCL site is code written line by line for you, in Laravel or Next.js. WordPress is a CMS platform that relies on pre-built themes and plugins. Key differences: performance (DCL under 1.5s LCP versus WordPress 3-5s), security (DCL zero public CVEs versus WordPress mandatory weekly updates), recurring cost (DCL €10-30/month hosting versus WordPress €20-100/month including plugins), and lock-in (DCL none versus WordPress moderate through proprietary plugins).

Can I grow the site over time?

Yes. Every DCL site is built modularly from the ground up. You can add a blog, an online store, a membership system, a custom dashboard, and third-party integrations as your business grows, without rebuilding everything. Since the code is yours, any competent developer can continue the work.

What happens if I want to switch developers?

The code is 100% yours, with no lock-in. We hand over full access to the code (Git repository), hosting (server, credentials), database (SQL dump + schema), and complete technical documentation. No competent developer will have trouble continuing the work or relocating the project.

Will the site be optimized for Google?

Yes, technical SEO is included as standard in the price: schema.org structured data (LocalBusiness, Service, FAQ, BreadcrumbList), an automatically updated sitemap.xml, configured robots.txt, canonical URLs, OpenGraph and Twitter cards for social sharing, optimized Core Web Vitals performance (LCP, FID, CLS), and WCAG AA accessibility. For content SEO (optimized articles, backlinks, local GMB) we offer separate packages.

Who writes the website copy?

You write the initial copy because you have the best insight into your business. We provide the recommended structure for each page (intro, benefits, FAQ, CTA) and optimize it technically for SEO. If you want professional copywriting, it costs €200-€500 extra per site (depending on the number of pages) and includes keyword research and SEO copywriting.

How does hosting work after launch?

Three options: we can host on the DCL server (€10-30/month, maintenance included), we can migrate to your existing hosting if you have one, or we use Vercel/Netlify for Next.js projects (free for average traffic). Since the code is yours, the hosting choice remains 100% up to you.

What happens to the old site and the SEO it earned?

We recommend keeping the useful content (copy that ranks, optimized images) and migrating the SEO with 301 redirects from the old URLs to the new ones. This preserves the Google rankings you have already earned and transfers the authority to the new site. The standard procedure is included for sites under 50 pages.

Do you provide a contract and tax invoice?

Yes. A civil contract between DUO GELATO S.R.L. (Tax ID 38578584, registered office in Timișoara) and your business (sole proprietor, company, or individual). A tax invoice is issued at every milestone per the contract. Standard payment: 50% upfront at signing, 50% on final delivery. For large projects over €5.000 we offer payment plans in 3 or 4 installments.

What do you not do?

We do not sell Envato templates and we do not build on bought themes. We do work on WordPress or Shopify when the project calls for it, but with a theme we write ourselves rather than one taken off a marketplace. We do not take projects under €1.490 (the promised quality would not be worth it and it would be unfair to clients who pay the standard price). We do not work with businesses selling products or services without a legal license.
